Music promoter Glynfest recently organised an evening of music at a local pub. David Parkin was the first to perform -

Parkin is the organiser of an open mic at the Phoenix Square in Leicester. He’s been described as ‘a charismatic singer-songwriter; David is like Randy Newman grinning at the Eels. Comic, tragic and very British’.

Next on stage were Nottingham-based band Liberation Pact. They provided proper good old-fashioned emo like Hey Mercedes/Promise Ring used to make.

The finale to the evening were Roused to Burning Homes who strummed out hardcore space-rock like Unsane jamming with Hawkwind.
