DocFilm Festival 2012

From Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd January, Leicester will host the second DocFilm Festival. There will be a selection of documentaries and short films on display at the Phoenix Square.

On Saturday 21st January from 4:30pm there will be a showcase of work by Lucy Peel including films such as Public Sector Strike – Protection of Pensions, A Tale of Tent City, The Morning After and Zombie Attack!

The Biggest Strike In 30 Years

November 2011 saw the biggest strike in the UK for 30 years. Various polls (in both left and right wing press) suggested an average of 70% of the population supported the public sector workers involved in the action.

The 2nd Annual Conference of Boring (2011)

It was time for the festival of the obscure, the mundane, the common, the twisted, the funny, the celebration of Boring! This year, the Boring conference was taking place at York Hall on Old Ford Road in East London. A sold-out event; it had twice the capacity of the venue used last year and this notice greeted the worryingly excited people upon arrival –
