I think you’re spot on that driving debate and discussion about the EDL underground would only serve to reinforce their feelings of disillusionment and disenfranchisement. It feels like we never truly learn the lessons of history. This is hardly the first time we’ve had a downturn coupled with the rise of a far right movement. We should stop trying to deal with it like it is.
