From Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd January, Leicester will host the second DocFilm Festival. There will be a selection of documentaries and short films on display at the Phoenix Square.
On Saturday 21st January from 4:30pm there will be a showcase of work by Lucy Peel including films such as Public Sector Strike – Protection of Pensions, A Tale of Tent City, The Morning After and Zombie Attack!

The Hobby Horse Festival in Banbury is a relatively recent creation, having started a decade ago in the year 2000. It is based around the English nursery rhyme: ‘Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross, to see a fine lady upon a white horse; rings on her fingers and bells on her toes and she shall have music wherever she goes.

It’s the summer of 2010 with record breaking tennis matches at Wimbledon, one day international cricket matches, Formula 1 car racing and a variety of golf matches. 20,000 people celebrated the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge gathering on 20th June 2010. From dusk till dawn with the sun setting at 21:26 on Sunday and rising at 04:52 on Monday, a vast array of people danced and sang throughout the night.

Lucy Peel seeks six Leicester based artists to interview & film in order to create a video diary from their artistic activities.
Each visit to a location of the artist’s choice would occur within a 2 week window (to give a wide range of possible dates), with 4 weeks of preparation between visits.
There would be 8 visits over a period of 1 year.
In your reply, please describe your artistic practise and explain – in no more than 500 words what you would bring to the project.
